More Rain in 2010 (May 8, 2010)
The 2010 racing season is starting off much like the 2009 season - wet. The April 24 opening night program was rained out at both Berlin Raceway and Kalamazoo Speedway. One week later, Berlin's show was shorted by bad weather, although Kalamazoo was able to run all races.

On May 8th, the first scheduled late model race at Berlin was called at around 9pm due to rain, just before Scott Thomas was going to hit the track for a heat race. The Late Models will try again at Berlin on May 15 where they are scheduled to go for 100 laps.

Tom Thomas, who is racing at Kalamazoo full time this year, had a pretty good opening night on May 8th. He set quick time and finished 5th in the feature.

Tom Thomas Takes Three (July 31, 2009)
On Saturday, June 27, Tom Thomas began a hot streak that would last for the next three Late Model races. First, he won the 40-lap Late Model feature at Berlin. Then on Friday, July 10, he took the 50-lap feature at Kalamazoo. And again on Saturday, July 11, Tom drove the #82 Late Model to victory lane in Berlin's 75-lap feature. July 18 wasn't a bad night either, Tom finished 2nd in Berlin's 60-lap feature.

Scott Thomas Wins on NASCAR Night (July 31, 2009)
Wednesday, June 10 was a big night at Berlin. NASCAR Cup driver Kyle Busch was on hand for the 125-lap "Rowdy Busch" CRA Super Series race, and NASCAR Truck driver Johnny Benson Jr. was there to challenge the local Late Model drivers in a special 100-lap race.

With a 2nd place qualifying effort, Scott Thomas knew that the #28 Late Model was fast. Due to the inversion, Scott started several rows back, but it put brother Tom Thomas on the front row. Tom took the lead on lap 1 and stayed there for the first half of the race. Scott steadily worked his way up towards the front, and on lap 55, Scott took the lead from Tom and never looked back, lapping all but 6 cars when he took the checkered flag. This was Scott's first win of the year, and his second win in a Late Model. Tom finished the race in third.

2009 Season Off to a Rocky Start (May 31, 2009)
Even though Berlin Raceway's season opener was six weeks ago, the Late Models have only raced three times due to rain-outs and scheduled nights off. Scott Thomas' #28 NAPA Late Model has been fast each week (qualifying 7th, 6th and 6th), but luck was not on his side in two of the three features. On May 23, Scott had a strong fourth place finish and led several laps.

Tom Thomas has been struggling with an ill-handling race car so far this year leading to 7th and 11th place finishes in the first two Late Model races this year. However, things appear to be turning around for the #82 Modern Office Interiors Late Model. On May 30, Tom struggled early in the 60-lap feature, but the car came around during the long green flag run at the end of the race, passing several cars to finish third.
